The box cameras included with most of our DVR Security system are weatherproof, durable, and built to last. As long as the camera is not submerged in water, it will withstand most harsh weather conditions.

They are IP66 Complaint. This means they have been tested and found to be completely dust proof, and waterproof against strong jets of water. They are able to withstand against the harshest weather conditions.

 

Yes, you can set your system to email you with notification in case of HDD events, Setup changes, Booting events, alarm inputs, Video Loss, and Motion detection on individual camera.

 

Yes, but the menus on the DVR itself must be closed before you can do such a setting change from your web browser, and you can only change the setting on your DVR with Internet Explorer. You can only view your cameras with other programs (i.e, Netscape, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) (Applicable to SDE-120, SDE-3000, SME-2220, SME-4220, SME-4221 only)

Yes, but only certain systems can be upgraded to a 1TB hard drive. Samsung does not perform this service and in most cases, you will void your warranty. This particular work must be done through a third party but do them at your own risk. The following are the systems are expandable: SDE-120N, SME-4220N, and SDE-2220N

Yes! All our Home Security Systems give you access to your Anytime Anywhere Viewing. This innovative feature makes it possible for you to monitor your cameras through the internet and even through your smart phone.

At this time, Samsung has a remote viewing app called IPOLIS MOBILE available for your iPhone™ and your ANDROID™ devices compatible with the new 2011 line of DVR systems (SDE-4001, SDE-4002, SDE-5001, and SDE-5002). Remote viewing is also available for systems such as SME-2220N, SME-4221N, SME-4220N, SDE-120N, and SDE-3000N through your smartphone but through The Smart Viewer App.

Check your manual for instructions on how to set up your system for remote viewing through either your phone or through a PC. You can also call the technical support number for guidance.

Currently, our SDE-120, SDE-3000, SME-2220, SME-4220, SME-4221 units support Mac viewing. We are currently in the process of developing software patches for Mac viewing for all of our systems.

Samsung cannot guarantee that a third party camera will work, so make the attempt at your own risk.

No, all you need is a browser i.e. Internet Explorer, Safari, Netscape, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc. However, viewing through Internet Explorer is best. (Note: SDE-3001, SDE03003, SDE-4001, SDE-4002, SDE-5001, and SDE-5002 are not Mac compatible)

Yes, your system has the Pentaplex operation that allows for continuous recording even when you are making a copy or viewing past recordings.

Press the [menu] button on the front panel or right-click any area. Select <SEQUENCE>.The screen will switch to Sequence mode. Double-click any area or select <SEQUENCE> again to stop Sequence mode. Double-click it again to switch back to split mode.

Press the [DISPLAY] button on the front panel or the [VIEW] button on the remote control to switch the mode to Split Single – Sequence in sequence.

press [MENU] button on your remote to show the LAUNCHER MENU on your live screen. Use the direction buttons or the cursor to select the DISP as shown in the picture below. From you here you can choose from a number of split display mode or the sequence mode.

It’s easy! You can playback with a click of the mouse. Just access the SEARCH menu on your system. You can search and review previously recorded videos by date or be event.

Your DVR gives you the option of searching by time or by an event, simplifying your search process.  Click[MENU] button on your DVR’s front panel or remote control. Then select <SEARCH>. On the SEARCH BY TIME tab, Select the desired year, month, and date and press [ENTER]. If there is a recording data is found for that date, the channel and hour will highlight blue on the time bar.  Set the date or time and select <PLAY> to review.

To search by an event, click on the SEARCH BY EVENT tab and select ALARM, MOTION, CONTINUOUS, OTHER, and the time line for each channel to display information about the related data. You can choose the time and the event using the direction buttons.

Click the SEARCH button in the live mode. The <SEARCH MENU> will be displayed. 

You will notice that you have a variety of options of search to make this task move along quickly and efficiently. A more detailed description of using these options can be found on page 28 of your manual, but here is a quick summary of each option.

DATE/TIME SEARCH is used to search for recorded data by date and time. In the <DATE TIME SEARCH> window, set the date by year, month, than day [YY/MM/DD]. Then set the time by hour, minute, than second [HH/MM/SS].

RECORD EVENT SEARCH will display the list EVENTS. Navigate using the up and down buttons and press ENTER.

ALARM EVENT SEARCH will display the list of data recorded due to an alarm occurrence or motion. Navigate using the up and down buttons and press ENTER search

LOSS EVENT SEARCH will display the list the channel and time when the VIDEO LOSS occurs

POWER EVENT LIST will display the list of date and time when the power is turned on.





SME-2220N / SME-4220N / SME-4221N(LCD Monitor with Built in DVR)

If you want an immediate playback of the live screen, select the channel to play, and right-click it to display the context menu. From there, select <PLAYBACK>. Select a desired start time to playback.

To play archived data, press the [SEARCH] button on the remote control or press the <SEARCH> button on the launcher menu. NOTE: The login dialog will appear to ask for your password. Only those with the correct user account and password can access the SEARCH menu.  You can search and playback by time and by event. 

Access the SEARCH menu to display the <SEARCH BY TIME> screen. Choose a date on the calendar. If there are any recorded data on the date chosen, it will be highlighted blue on the time bar. Use the direction buttons to choose the time and channel you would like to review and press [ENTER]. 

Access the SEARCH menu and click on the <SEARCH BY EVENT>. Use the direction buttons to move to a desired item and press the [ENTER] button for playback.

SME-2220N/SME-4220N, SDE-120N/SDE-3000N

When your hard drive is near full, your unit will automatically notify you on the screen. However, the DISK FULL EVENT option must be set “ON” in order for this to happen. 

To turn “ON” or to confirm that your DIS FULL EVENT option is “ON” you must navigate to the “EVENT / SENSOR” setup window. Follow these following steps. 

First, press the [MENU] button on your remote or the <MENU> button on the launcher menu. Use your directional buttons to click on <SYSTEM SETUP>.  *NOTE: Only those with the correct login and password can access the SETUP menu. 

Using the directional buttons, choose and click on “EVENT / SENSOR”. Click on “HDD EVENT” on the left. Notice the “DISK FULL EVENT”. Confirm to see if it is set “ON”. If it is set to “OFF”, use your direction buttons to set it to “ON”.

Insert a Flash Drive into the USB slot located in the front of the unit. Please note the flash drive cannot be bigger than 2GB.

Click <MENU> then select <ARCHIVING>. The backup window will appear. There you can PREVIEW the video you want to archive, choose to include or exclude audio of the footage, choose to include the log information, and choose from other options and modes. When you are finished with the options, use the direction buttons to set the start and end times, and select <PREVIEW>. Push <OK>. Choose the <DEVICE> and <MODE>, then click <START>

SMT-190N
Press the FRONT PANEL MENU to enter the SETUP MENU. It will ask you for your username and password. The default username is admin and the default password is 4321. From here, choose ARCHIVE SETUP. You have to set the ARCHIVE ENABLE to ON. Set the DATE, TIME, and ARCHIVE CH (channel) that you want to save to the USB. Set the ARCHIVE UNIT (set the data capacity unit that you want to save data to USB. If you select 1MB, data will be stored up to 1MB). Lastly press [ARCHIVE START].

NOTE: The only supported USB DEVICE is a USB MEMORY STICK. The Compatible USBs are as followed:

SME-2220N / SME-4220N / SME-4221N(LCD Monitor with Built in DVR)
SDE-120N / SDE-3000N(4ch DVR)

Press the [MENU] button on the remote control or select <BACKUP> button on the launcher menu. NOTE: The login dialog will appear to ask for your password. Only those with the correct user account and password can access this section.

In the BACKUP menu, choose the <NEW BACKUP> setup screen.  You will see the following options: TAG, DEVICE, FROM, TO, and LOG. Tag can be used to enter a name for each data item that you want to reserve. The DEVICE allows you to select an external storage device to which you save the backup data. FROM specifies the backup start time and TO specifies the backup end time. Push <QUERY>

When you are finished entering the data, press <RESERVE> to store in the HDD and <WRITE> to store on a connected storage device. 

To setup your back up Data and archive it onto your PC or separate hard drive, From the <NEW BACKUP> setup screen, use the direction buttons to move to the desired item and press the [ENTER] button to set the value. Input the TAG name for each data item. Then input FROM, the start time of the backup and TO, the end time of the backup. 

Insert your USB storage device on the side panel of the monitor. Click or Press <QUERY> and select WRITE. Once the data is written into your USB storage device, you can upload it onto your pc.

The Samsung 22” Monitor with built in DVR  comes completely with all necessary wire and camera mounts, making installation a snap. Plug in your systems, place and mount your cameras where you need them, and run your cables to your system.

The cameras are powered and connected all by a single cable and the monitor and DVR comes as one. In case you need to run your cable longer, simply order more on SamsungSV.com and connect them together. The cables are 60ft in length and connect to each other via male/female jacks. You can connect and run up to 300ft of cable without any problems.

The recording time is dependent on the setting of the picture quality and how many cameras are recording on your system. Below is a chart to give you an idea of how long your system might record for.

Infrared cameras are specially designed for the extreme night conditions.
SEB-1000R (SOC-A100) and SEB-1002R (SOC-N120) are infrared cameras equipped with Infrared light illuminators, which are invisible to the human eye. You can record and monitor discretely in dark environments with our cameras being illuminated by IR light.  

Your system has a full watchdog circuitry. In the event of Video Loss, the system can alert you by buzzer and/or an alarm output. If set, it will also send you an Email notification. Please note your alarm and buzzer has to be switched on in your setup menu.

The range of our cameras during nighttime conditions depends on the number of Infrared LED lights built into the camera. However, the majority of our cameras have a range of up to 50ft in night time conditions

Different businesses and homes have different security needs. In order to better fit your particular security need, you can customize your display for various modes. First, the sequence mode displays one camera at a time on the full screen. This way you can get a detailed look of what is being recorded on each camera. If that’s not what you need, you can set your DVR display for split mode. The split mode displays all cameras simultaneously on the monitor using split screens. Using the split screen mode, you can get an overview of what’s happening on your property.

There are several other display options on your system. You can get a detailed description of each option and how to change from one mode to the next in your product manual.

When you record while the hard drive is full your DVR is programmed to erase or record over data, starting with the oldest data first. Before it gets to this, you can program and set your DVR to notify you in case your hard drive becomes full.

If your computer doesn’t play the video, you might need to download the correct codec for your media player. Your video plays as MEPG-4 or as AVI depending on which system you have. Check online to see if your media player has the appropriate codec for these files. Download and install to view your videos.

YES, Samsung dome cameras are available for the models SDE-3001, SDE-3003, SDE-4001, SDE-4002, SDE-5001, and SDE-5002. You can purchase dome cameras on samsungSV.com.

Unfortunately, PTZ cameras are not compatible with this DVR system
